Projected 1st Round Draft Pick cornerback 'Caleb Farley' is the first NCAA to opt-out this season.
Caleb Farley, Virginia Tech's top prospect decides to opt-out of the 2020-21 NFL Season.
"I am opting out due to uncertain health conditions and regulations and all the other opt-outs in football right now," he said in a video on his Instagram.
Farley said he will be preparing for the 2021 NFL Draft.
His mother died in 2018 from breast cancer, as he explains, "I can't afford to lose another person or loved one,"
"Though the competitor is in me badly wants to play this season, [but] I can't ignore what's going on in my heart and I must make the decision that brings me to most peace."
Farley, a junior, had 4 interceptions last season for Virginia Tech, and had 6 in his career. Caleb was a first-team All-ACC pick as well as leading the conference for his 16 passes defended last season.
